All too often project managers give status reports that undermine their credibility and give executives little information on which to base decisions. Dick, you're absolutely right.
A major reason is that status reports are all too often seen as ends in themselves, designed to be produced, ticked off the 'To Do' list by writer and reader alike, then filed for posterity.
